New Edinburgh Cricket Club Ottawa - Charitable Activities

Charitable Activities

The New Edinburgh Cricket Club has played a lead role in the Ottawa cricket community in promoting charitable activities.

Our support of the local community began in early 2005 after Rawle Williams, a valued Burgh, passed away from cancer. In order to honour Rawle and his contributions to NECC, the club organized a friendly cricket match that pitted the "old Burghs" versus the "new Burghs".

Approximately 100 people show up to the annual event to support, and we have raised approximately $1,000-$2,500 annually for such charities as the Wells for Well-being, the Canadian Cancer Society, and the Ottawa School Breakfast program.
