August 5th 2011 will be marked as one of the most memorable days in New Edinburgh Cricket Club's history. This day will mark a final salute from NECC and the rest of the Ottawa Cricketing fraternity to a former Burghs member, Saba Ravishankar.
In honor of Ravi, New Edinburgh CC and Nepean CC will jointly be hosting the 7th Annual Rawle Williams
Memorial Game at Rideau Hall on August 5th. This event will support the Canadian Cancer Society. Sadly,
Ravi passed away
this year in April (he was only 47 with 3 young kids) to this terrible disease. We are sure that many of us know of someone who has been affected in some way
and we are hoping that you will be able to help us raise funds in support
of this good cause. All monies raised will be going directly to the Cancer
Society. On top of what we are able to raise online, the club will also
be making a substantial contribution based on ticket and food sales to
the charity. We hope to make this our biggest year yet in terms of contributions towards noble causes.
